To support the understanding of content, we can use a framework used in the field of education. Generally, four different learning cycles have been described: 

• Learning from feelings

• Learning from watching and listening

• Learning from thinking

• Learning by doing

Graphic design can influence all four learning cycles by:

• Creating emotions and experiences to stimulate learning by feelings and watching,

• Transmitting concepts to stimulate learning from thinking, and 

• Interacting to simulate learning by doing.
